Team - OMNI

Aims

The competencies of the OMNI team are based on modeling, management and optimization for multi-scale mobile networks. That includes, not only macroscopic objects which are intelligent and monolithic, than macroscopic objects composed of microscopic elements (intelligent and distributed MEMS). Scientific tools we use are manifold. For modeling, we rely on our experience with quantitative modeling network queuing, static analysis and semi-static performance of distributed programs and realistic propagation models. The optimization of multi-scale mobile networks relies on our experience of ground graphs allowing to manage the structure and properties of services compared with criteria of optimization multi-objectives flows (multi-graphs with dynamic incremental construction, p-graphs or graphs with sprawling taking into account the gravitational attraction of property in a network). The optimization of the structuring of multi-scale networks will also rely on meta-heuristics formed on the basis of genetic algorithms.

The originality of this theme comes from its scientific issue which is the combination of classical distributed systems, ad hoc networks by integrating all aspects of programming and networks. In addition, we have seen that distributed intelligent MEMS have characteristics for which we must define new management methods. Finally, the multiscale aspect is extremely important for us that micro-systems can be interfaced with the macro-world.
